カレラの中で最も人気の高い単一畑の「ジェンセン」。畑名は、オーナーであるジョシュの父親にちなんで命名されています。ジェンセンはロマネ・コンティから持ち帰ったブドウの樹を試験的に植えた初期の頃から存在する畑です。樹齢30年以上の樹からは非常に凝縮された小さな果実をもつぶどうが収穫されます。ジェンセンは、とてもリッチで構造の大きな造りが特徴。黒系果実、リコリス、スパイスや甘いバルサミコなどの香りが弾けます。層の厚い、みずみずしい果実味が口の中に広がり、圧倒的に豪華なピノ・ノワールの味わいは、はっとするほどシンプルですが、美しく深みがある仕上がり。

2016-2026More rich and structured, yet still sexy and voluptuous, the 2010 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard offers up a complex array of underbrush, black cherry, framboise, crushed flowers, toast and spice on both the nose and palate. Easily one of the most impressive Pinot Noirs I’ve tasted from California, this ethereally textured, tannic effort should be given 3-4 years of bottle age and then consumed over the following decade or more. Drink 2016-2026. Open, voluptuous and sexy efforts, these all benefitted from substantial air time and gained richness and depth over the evening. They’re brilliant Pinot Noirs.
